Leno Hat by Isabell Kraemer

Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Sport in Bramble Heather, Palette in a coordinating color. I ran out of the Palette due to the extended brim and had a similar color in sport. There is a small color difference that I managed through alternating the stripes.

This was my first time using a provisional cast on and picking up the stitches. It went smoothly and has a barely visible join.

The pattern has a great tree motif that made it a great gift knit for the guys in my family.

New Yarn

New yarn alert!

I was shopping with my sister at @michaelsstores this past weekend and stumbled across a new yarn that I haven’t seen before from @lionbrandyarns!

It’s in the Wool Ease line, which is a bulky acrylic wool blend yarn. This is a roving style yarn, which is one of my favorrrrite styles.

My sister loves the color yellow, so we picked up the Daisy colorway. I cast on 44 stitches on a size 11 needle and did a 1×1 cuff for 6 rows, and then knit stockinette on a size 13 needle until it would be just a little longer than a beanie length when done and then decreased. I added a faux fur Pom to top it off.

Overall I am super please with how this yarn knit up. There are several colorways at @michaelsstores and I would love to pick up a few more balls of yarn for quick gift knits this Christmas.
